Clare U20 manager Dermot Coughlan and his backroom staff have named their side to face Waterford in Thursday evening’s Dalata Hotel Group Under 20 Munster Football Championship. Clare will hope to take advantage as hosts for the tie in Quilty's Páirc Naomh Mhuire where they took a share of the spoils against Cork one week ago. Both these sides enter this Phase Two Round Two tie having already met in Phase One of the competition in Leamybrien where the Banner triumphed by 1-12 to 0-06. Man of the match in that encounter was Clare captain Daire Culligan. The Lissycasey attacker accounted for 1-05 of Clare’s haul and was ably assisted by Donncha O’Dwyer and Diarmuid McMahon.
Since progressing to Phase Two each side has had contrasting fortunes on their opening day out. The Deise, again at home in Leamybrien, simply couldn’t handle an impressive Kerry side who registered an emphatic 2-27 to 0-10 win while Clare showed terrific spirit to turn around a four point second half deficit to Cork and will count themselves somewhat unlucky having left Quilty with a 1-10 apiece draw.
Throw in at Páirc Naomh Mhuire in Quilty is at 7:00pm and tickets are available at https://www.universe.com/explore?query=clare%20gaa Best of luck lads !
