Clare manager Brian Lohan has named an unchanged starting fifteen from the Limerick defeat for the trip to Semple Stadium, though a number of positional switches give the Banner a slightly different look in attack. Shane O’Donnell and Peter Duggan move to the half‑forward line, while captain Tony Kelly shifts into the inside forward line.
The equation on Saturday night is simple: victory would bring Clare to four points, a total that Waterford cannot reach and one that Tipperary would fall short of if defeated. A result in favour of the Banner men would secure at least third place in Munster.
Tipperary, the reigning All‑Ireland champions, enter the fixture needing a response of their own however. Liam Cahill’s side finished strongly against Cork in Round 1 and controlled long spells early on against Waterford in Walsh Park, but consistency across seventy minutes remains their target.
With both counties seeking survival points, this contest carries the feel of old school knockout hurling and sets the stage for a compelling evening in Semple Stadium.
