Clare have named an unchanged attack from the side that edged past Tipperary in a dramatic Munster Final penalty shootout as they prepare for Sunday’s eagerly awaited Fulfil All-Ireland Under 20 Hurling Final against Galway in FBD Semple Stadium.
Management have largely stuck to their guns following that memorable provincial triumph, though Sixmilebridge defender Matthew O’Halloran continues his station in the last line of defence as Joe Casey continues his race for fitness ahead of the decider. O’Halloran is named alongside Robert Loftus and team captain Eoghan Gunning in the Banner's full-back line.
Clare's half-back line remains unchanged with the trio of Jamie Moylan, James Hegarty and Ryan Hayes once again entrusted after impressive performances against Tipperary.
St Joseph’s Doora Barefield’s Graham Ball is the only new starter and is rewarded for his impact from the bench in the last two outings. Ball is named to partner Ballyea’s Daniel Costelloe at midfield.
Terence Fahy and his selectors have retained the same forward unit that powered Clare to Munster glory. Ronan Kilroy and Fred Hegarty occupy the wings either side of centre-forward Michael Collins, while the inside line that has found goalscoring form in recent weeks also remains intact. Marco Cleary, Thomas O’Connor and Paul Rodgers are again selected there, with Rodgers and the aforementioned Ball returning to Semple Stadium for their second All-Ireland Final appearance in the space of twelve months.
Clare will enter Sunday’s showdown hoping to capture a first All-Ireland Under 20 title since 2014. Standing in their way is a talented Galway who have also named their side (here) for the encounter.
Throw in at FBD Semple Stadium is at 2:00pm and match tickets are available at https://am.ticketmaster.com/gaa/allirelandu20
