The 2026 Clare GAA TV coverage begins this weekend with the willwego.com Clare Cup final clash between O'Callaghan's Mills and Scariff.

There is always something special about a Scariff and O'Callaghan's Mills meeting, but this Saturday afternoon’s showdown carries even greater significance as the old East Clare rivals lock horns in the WillWeGo.com Clare Cup Division 1 Final at Dr. Daly Park, Tulla (1.00pm).

With local bragging rights, timely championship momentum and above all - silverware on the line, supporters can expect a fiercely contested derby between two clubs who have impressed throughout the spring campaign.

Scariff's route to the decider has been built on consistency. They topped Division 1A after an excellent league campaign, with only a draw against Clonlara and a narrow one-point defeat to Clooney-Quin preventing an almost flawless record. Their knockout form has been equally impressive, accounting for Crusheen by five points before edging past Newmarket-on-Fergus by two in a hard-fought and at times tumultuous semi-final.

Having endured the disappointment of becoming embroiled in last year's championship relegation battle, Scariff appear a revitalised outfit in 2026. The graduation into senior ranks of Paul Rodgers has added another dimension to their attack, while the experienced trio of Liam Crotty, Patrick Crotty and Patrick Ryan ensure they possess plenty of scoring power capable of troubling any defence.

Sean Doyle's O'Callaghan's Mills arrive in Tulla with momentum of their own. Since capturing the 2025 Intermediate Championship, the Mills have scarcely paused for breath. Although their Munster adventure ended in controversial circumstances against eventual All-Ireland champions Upperchurch-Drombane, their response has been exemplary.

Six victories and a draw saw them comfortably top Division 1B. A local derby stalemate with Feakle the only blemish on an otherwise perfect league record that included victories over Éire Óg, Sixmilebridge, Clarecastle, Kilmaley and Crusheen.

Chasing a sixth Clare Senior Hurling League title, the ‘Fireballs’ have developed one of the county's most dangerous attacking units. Liam Murphy, Cormac Murphy, Seán Boyce and Colin Creehan have been consistent in finding scores throughout the campaign, helping to offset the loss of influential stalwart forward Gary Cooney through long-term injury. The Mills attack may not be the biggest in the county but as the ground hardens their waspish pace will be hard to contain for anyone – including Scariff this weekend.

The return of inter-county panellist Aidan Fawl for the knock out stages has further strengthened their options. The Mills booked their place in the final with an impressive 3-14 to 2-11 home quarter-final victory over Clooney-Quin at Hamilton Park before edging Kilmaley by the narrowest of margins in a gripping semi-final two weeks ago played at Clarecastle.

On paper, Saturday's contest has all the ingredients of a classic. Scariff's blend of experience and physicality comes up against an O'Callaghan's Mills side playing for the past twelve months with confidence and attacking freedom.

The setting could hardly be more fitting either . Tulla's historic Dr. Daly Park with a large crowd expected provides the stage for what promises to be a tremendous East Clare derby and an ideal appetiser ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final between Clare and Limerick.

For those unable to attend, there is no need to miss out. Saturday's final also marks the launch of Clare GAA TV's live coverage for the 2026 season in partnership with StreamSport. Coverage begins shortly before the 1:00pm throw-in, with supporters able to purchase the live stream directly through the fixture on the brand-new Clare GAA App.
